Forged of Violet

I got the prettiest fork from MountainMusings today! Actually, it's a french twist comb, but I can't do french twists, so to me it's just a little fork with lots of tines. Very bendy and sort of soft tines. As with my other Kanzashi fork (which I managed to break, by the way! Long story short, it fell out of my hair and got run over by a few cars. I can fix it with glue though, thank goodness!!), this is mainly a decorative piece, and I have to be careful when putting it in. This one did hold one side of my cinnamon bun, while a few long bobby pins held the other side. It could never hold my entire bun, but it's at least a bit functional.
I also got some freebies this time, two cute bobby pins that match the fork. I forgot to take a picture, so maybe some other time. ^-^

But let's get back to the prettiness. I had of course anticipated that it would be quite pretty, because it's purple and why on earth would I buy something ugly, but I had not anticipated this level of gorgeousness. Oh. My. Goodness! It's the most perfect, deep purple, starry night sky captured in the most magnificently crafted Kanzashi flowers ever (you get a cookie if you get through that sentence)! And I love starry night skies! I've looked through most of the Kanzashi flowers on Etsy, and in my opinion, MountainMusings has the most beautiful ones. So many different colours and varieties to choose from.
My camera thinks that this fork is a blueish purple, but don't let it fool you. In reality, the fork leans more towards reddish purple.

Clippies in action

Here are the little claw clips I bought at Accessorize. I used them (and a few bobby pins) to hold twin logrolls yesterday. They seem pretty hair friendly, as I could take them out with any strands getting caught. The little black clips from H&M on the other hand.. I think those should just be thrown in the trash. They're horrible. I hope the ones I got from Ebay will arrive soon, I want to dress my hair up with floral print clippies and leopard clippies now!
I also think that the logroll may be my new favourite bun for doing twin buns. It's so pretty, and so easy to do. ^-^

Zig Zag and Glittery Silver

Never thought I'd actually want any of the glittery Ficcares. Certainly didn't think I'd end up buying a glittery silver Innovation, but I did and I'm very happy about it. Look how pretty! And sparkly! And it goes perfectly with the Zig Zag gold & silver Innovation I purchased from someone on LHC. Both are size Medium. Please excuse my hair in the picture, I washed it today and didn't have time to let it dry completely.

Manic Panic and tiny claws

I dyed my hair with Manic Panic last week, because my henna turned out to not be henna, and I wanted to dye my hair. So far I'm very happy with the results, so much so that I've already purchased some Directions dye in Vermillion Red. I may get a few tubs of a different shade too.
This time I used MP Infra Red and Rock'n Roll Red, though both look very similar on my hair. My hair took the dye really well, despite being part hennaed and part virgin (I had a few cm of blonnette roots). I've only washed once since I dyed, and the colour has faded a little bit. Still pretty intense though.

In other news, the back of my head suddenly decided it didn't want me to secure my buns there anymore. I've tried to do different buns and secure them in different places, but clearly that wasn't good enough. The last few days I've been living in double buns held with small claw clips, bobby pins, and spin pins. I bought some cheap claws at H&M, but to say that they are low quality is an understatement. Good enough to keep my hair up for now, but I'm never buying any of those again. Instead, I went crazy on Ebay and purchased a bunch of cute, little clips there. And because they may take ages to arrive, I bought two sets at Accessorize today. These are bigger the ones from H&M, much more expensive, but they seem to be less snaggy. Also, pretty colours!!

And a few pictures of my recent 'dos. The first are twin logrolls, and the second are lopsided cinnamon buns/beebutt buns. I wanted to be Princess Leia today ^-^

Border Honey Marble

Hi! Terribly sorry for taking so long to do this post, but I was busy distracted kinda forgot all about it. I blame my boyfriend and my parents' dogs. Anyway, pictures!!

ETA. I forgot all about the comparison with my maximas. I may be able to do that tomorrow, unless I forget all about it again. Doh!

I decided to make a separate post for each clip. Honey Marble will be posted tomorrow, along with a comparison with my HM Maximas clip.

Waters Of Life

My "Waters Of Life" fork from MountainMusings arrived today, and it's fabulous! It's short and definitely not strong enough to hold my entire bun, but I mainly bought it to adorn my pinned buns. Here it is in an Orchid bun. It's perfect!

Lovely Circle Pink

I noticed this style for the first time last week during the LillaRose sale, and I just had to have it. I love the circle stone-set centerpieces, and I've been pretty crazy about pink lately. This style is one of the styles that will be discontinued, which made it even more important for me to get hold of it. It's in size Medium so I'm not sure if I can use it for sectioned buns, but it's perfect to adorn my pinned buns with. It's just so pretty!

Orchid bun

I've realised that some buns can only be done with hair pins. The Orchid Bun is one of them. I've tried to secure it with sticks, forks, 1 Ficcare, 2 Ficcares, and Flexi-8s, but nothing has worked so far. Today I tried long bobby pins, and they worked wonderfully. I clipped my Roman Stone over it afterwards, because I wanted to wear it today ^-^
